On January 29th the Juno Beach Police, in cooperation with the Town of Juno Beach held its annual Juno Beach Night Out Against Crime (JBNO) – and as in the past, it was a huge success. Estimated attendance was well in excess of 200 residents, business owners and visitors of all ages. And of course our Juno Beach Police Foundation was thrilled to be able to participate for the first time.
The police department announced at JBNO a new smartphone app, funded by the Police Foundation, that allows individuals to communicate directly with the on-duty police supervisor, 24 hours a day. This app, called “SaferWatch” is of course for NON-EMERGENCY. situations.
Emergencies should still be reported via 911.
The app is designed to allow individuals to notify the police of suspicious activity, dangerous situations, ordinance violations or of things that “just don’t look right.” Tips can be sent anonymously or with full contact information.
